1. they burn

Why it's a problem: One of the main reasons people feel averted to face wipes, or make-up removing wipes, is that they irritate their skin. Unless you’re doing a facial peel or treatment, any burning or stinging you feel from an everyday skincare product should scream “stop using this!”. Simply put, your skin is trying to tell you what you’re putting on it is not okay. Far too many makeup wipes (especially if you are buying cheaper ones) cause some kind of irritation to your skin. Why it's a problem: So you’re reading the label, and you see this long, long list of unpronounceable words. Alcohol(s), fragrances, you name it. Not good! Here are 5 major irritants that are commonly found in makeup removing wipes:

For example: hydrating, smoothing, purifying etc- you name it. It is highly unlikely you will reap true benefits from a makeup wipe alone- especially when they’re full of skin irritants.

Why it's a problem: Another major complaint about makeup wipes is that they leave behind a residue, giving your skin a sticky feeling.

According to dermatologist Janet H. Prystowsky, M.D, P.C, both the cleansing agents and the preservatives in most wipes can leave a residue on your skin after you're done using them. That residue can clog pores and cause acne and redness.
