THE IMPORTANCE OF TIMING YOUR SKINCARE ROUTINE RIGHT

& how to get the delicate timing right

Timing is everything, even in skincare.

Science says that your skin has six primary functions. These functions are Absorption, Heat Regulation, Excretion, Secretion and Sensation. Each one of these has very specific things to do in a timely manner.

Think of the body just as having a solar battery. This is known to many as the Circadian Rhythm, or, the internal clock. During the day your body is protecting you from external aggressors like pollution, helping to keep the body cool and defend it from sun exposure.

As the sun goes down and your mind is at rest the body and skin are busy making repairs to collagen, elastin which keeps our lifted and firm. Whilst making those repairs the skin can become dehydrated from all of the work that it’s putting in.

The skin needs replenishment in order to stay healthy and balanced. Adopting a routine at least one hour before bed time ensures that your skin will reap the maximum benefits of the products and not your pillow case! Aim to complete your skincare routine an hour before you hit the sack to allow your skin to fully absorb the products you just put onto it, and prevent those products from transferring to your pillowcase and bedding.
