1. Acne in your 20's
Why could this be happening?
- Antibiotics, Birth Control, and Accutane
- Partying & Alcohol
- Crappy Diet
- Lack of Sleep
- Stress
All of this raises inflammation in the body, creating blood sugar disregulation and sending your cortisol (The stress hormone) through the roof leading to more sebum production and clogged pores & acne.
How To Deal With It
- Focus on nourishing food
- Reduce your alcohol intake
- Prioritize sleep
- Practice reducing stress
2. Acne in your 30's
Why could this be happening?
- Life
- Stressors
- Gut Damage
- Hormonal Imbalances
Everything your life up until now - antibiotics, birth control, overindulgences (alcohol, junk food), pregnancy, miscarriage, past illnesses - has compounded and led to systemic inflammation and acne.
How To Deal With It
- Focus on digestion
- Include stress reduction practices in your daily life
- Get to bed early to help lower your cortisol levels
3. Acne in your 40's
Why could this be happening?
- Health history (medications, pregnancies, losses, etc.)
- Dietary & lifestyle habits
