Cycle Syncing: Skincare Edition

YOUR SKINCARE ROUTINE AND MENSTRUAL CYCLE

Cycle syncing is the method of adjusting aspects of your life, such as diet and exercise, based on the phases of your menstrual cycle, from the menstrual phase to the luteal phase. This has been shown to decrease hormonal symptoms by aligning with your body’s natural rhythms.

I have been cycle syncing for about 2 years now, and I can attest to its power. As women, we don’t operate on the same cycles as men; our bodies ebb and flow, and it’s crucial to our health to listen to our bodies and rest when we need to.

Did you know that cycle syncing your skincare is possible? For example, if you know you get hormonal acne around your period because of oil production, it’s a good idea to schedule a Lunchtime Peel or Enzyme Treatment monthly a week before your period to avoid breakouts from your hormone levels and excess oil.

But you can use this chart to help you out, and for additional help knowing what phase of your cycle you are in, including the follicular phase and the ovulatory phase, you can use the Flo app (I live by this app) or check your Basal Body temperature to determine ovulation time.
