As a results-driven esthetician, one of the services I perform almost daily in the treatment room is chemical peels.

4. Deep peels, on the other hand, are beyond the scope of an esthetician's practice as they penetrate deeply into the dermis. They must be administered by a dermatologist. Deep peels are highly effective in dramatically reducing the appearance of skin flaws. However, they are typically a one-time treatment and tend to be stronger and more painful. Patients must be prepared for several weeks of downtime and often need to prepare their skin for weeks or months before undergoing the treatment.
