PERFECT CLEANSING STEPS
Cleansing is the most important step in your daily skincare routine. If you are not facial cleansing daily, you are wasting time & money on your skincare.
A perfect cleanse allows your serums, moisturizers, and any other products you might be using to work more effectively. In order to achieve the perfect cleansing routine, you should be following these simple yet effective steps:
1. Brush your teeth first
The ingredients in your toothpaste may cause breakouts around the mouth area, so it’s very important that you brush before cleansing, especially if you have acne-prone or oily skin.
2. Wash your hands
Your hands have a lot of bacteria on them from everything you do throughout the day. Before you wash your face with a gentle cleanser, clean your hands to keep bacteria from transferring to your face and neck. This is true whether you have oily or dry skin. Don't forget under your nails as well!
3. Use a quarter-sized amount of the facial cleanser
The amount of product you are using matters! One common mistake is not using enough cleanser, regardless of skin type. Not using enough cleanser makes your cleanse less effective. Get enough of its active ingredients to clean skin, protect skin from environmental stressors, and keep skin hydrated. However, using too much of the cleanser is also wasting your precious products.
4. Cleanse once in the morning and twice at night
A single cleanse in the morning will remove sweat, bacteria, and excess oil to provide a clean surface and glowing skin for the day ahead.
Double cleansing at night with a creamy or oil-based cleanser first and gel cleanser second will guarantee that you are removing all dirt, debris, and makeup from the skin and avoid surface buildup and future breakouts.
5. Always cleanse your face AND neck
All skincare, including your cleanse, should be brought down your neck. The skin on your neck is just as important as the skin on your face and should be treated as such.
6. Each cleanse should be at least 60 seconds
Cleansing for 60 seconds allows the ingredients in your cleanser to penetrate deeper into the skin. When you start washing your face and neck for the proper amount of time, you will notice a difference in your skin's tone and texture.
7. Rinse EVERYTHING off!
Always make sure you are rinsing off every bit of your cleanser. Any residue left behind can lead to clogged pores, buildup, and breakouts, especially if you have a delicate skin type.
8. Use Clean Skin Club Clean Towels to dry your face!
Regular towels tend to harbor bacteria, so Clean Skin Club Clean Towels are the perfect addition to your skincare routine. They can be extremely helpful for those with acne-prone skin, sensitive skin, and those who have rosacea, psoriasis, eczema, etc. Clean Towels help your skin can stay clean, and bacteria free after cleansing!
Following these simple steps will help you accomplish the perfect cleanse and start your routine off with a bang!
