Let’s welcome spring with the best skincare habits! As our skin adjusts from cold to warmer weather, it’s important to adjust our skincare routine! Here are some of my favorite tips to ensure our skin stays healthy during this weather transition.
1. Add an Antioxidant Serum
One of the best ways to keep your skin protected, radiant & healthy is by adding a Vitamin C Serum. This will help to prevent free radical damage which includes pollution & ultraviolet rays, and is most effective when used in the mornings.
2. Use a Weekly Mask
The amazing benefits of applying a face mask 1-3x a week will help unclog pores, pull out impurities, exfoliate dead skin cells, hydrate + moisturize the skin.
3. Be Mindful of Products that Increase Sun Sensitivity
Now that the sun is coming out it’s crucial to be mindful of products you’re using that contain active ingredients such as retinol, glycolic acid and salicylic acid. These products should be used as directed by your Skincare Professional.
4. Switch to a Lighter Moisturizer
Most of us tend to produce more oil during the spring/summer time which leaves a film that feels heavy on our skin. I always suggest switching over to a lightweight moisturizer because most formulas contain less oil and help us maintain a balanced skin barrier. Remember moisturizer is essential in any skincare routine no matter what time of year!
5. Wear your Sunscreen
The most important step is sunscreen, which should be worn all year round! This gold staple product helps prevent sunburn, skin cancer & premature aging.
