How To Deal With Acne By The Decade

Let’s be real... whoever said acne only affects teenagers has been living under a ROCK.🤦🏼‍♀️ My team and I have worked with clients in their teens, to clients in their 50s and beyond.

So yes, bad new is, acne can happen in your 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s.The good news? It’s TOTALLY possible to achieve clear skin and clear that acne at any age!🙌

1. Acne in your 20's

Why could this be happening?

  • Antibiotics, Birth Control, and Accutane
  • Partying & Alcohol
  • Crappy Diet
  • Lack of Sleep
  • Stress

All of this raises inflammation in the body, creating blood sugar disregulation and sending your cortisol (The stress hormone) through the roof leading to more sebum production and clogged pores & acne.

How To Deal With It

  • Focus on nourishing food
  • Reduce your alcohol intake
  • Prioritize sleep
  • Practice reducing stress

2. Acne in your 30's

Why could this be happening?

  • Life
  • Stressors
  • Gut Damage
  • Hormonal Imbalances

Everything your life up until now - antibiotics, birth control, overindulgences (alcohol, junk food), pregnancy, miscarriage, past illnesses - has compounded and led to systemic inflammation and acne.

Why could this be happening?

  • Health history (medications, pregnancies, losses, etc.)
  • Dietary & lifestyle habits
  • Poor gut health
  • Sluggish detox pathways
  • Hormonal imbalances

In addition to acne, these factors are also contributors to fatigue, bloat, headaches, period issues, insomnia, and digestive problems.

  • Get to bed early to help lower your cortisol levels

  • Menopause & postmenopause hormonal shifts

Whether you've been experience it since you were a teen, or your only developed it in recent years. These are significant changes happening to your body in your body in your fifties and beyond that contribute to acne.
