How can I get rid of textured skin?
Textured skin is not a bad thing! It’stotally normal to have "texture". The best way to smooth your skin and reduce unwanted texture is to use an exfoliant. It’s key! You can easily find exfoliating treatments such as glycolic acid, AHAs, or BHAs to use at home in your daily routine. They come in all kind of forms from toners to masks- take your pick on the method, both are highly effective. Also investing in treatments from your esthetician such as microdermabrasion, micro-needling, and chemical peels will always be most effective.
What products should everyone have in their skin care routine?
Besides a cleanser and moisturizer, my top three would definitely be SPF, a (good quality) vitamin-c serum, and retinoids! These are going to keep your skin forever healthy.
How does diet impact acne?
Gut health is super important when dealing with acne. Certain foods you eat raise your blood sugar and causes our bodies to release excess insulin. This excess insulin can cause oil glands to produce more oil causing more acne.
What are the best ingredients to exfoliate?
Salicylic acid and glycolic acid. Salicylic acid is a great one if you have oily or acne prone skin. Another great one that everyone could use is glycolic acid- this one is great for all skin types. I love a great chemical exfoliation! Although not classified as an exfoliant- I love a vitamin A (also as known as retinol) for all skin types. It creates a similar effect by smoothing skin over time.
How to prevent aging skin?
Disclosure: Your skin IS going to age, you WILL develop lines and wrinkles over time and this is totally normal. However- to age more gracefully and optimize your skins health and appearance: SUNSCREEN! It’s that’s simple. Wear your sunscreen everyday because the sun is going to be the number one thing that causes aging the fastest. Yes, even on cloudy days, and yes, even if you’re not going outside. Need I say more?
