Sun Damage is Cumulative

Sun Damage is Cumulative

Your skin doesn’t ‘forget’ the sun exposure without spf if you split it up throughout the day/ week. Damage accumulates on top of itself, resulting in sun spots, wrinkles, laxity, texture, sensitivity over time. The DNA damage compiles into long lasting consequences that can be difficult to reverse.

It’s like if you ate 10 cookies in one sitting vs spreading them out throughout the day- it might not feel as bad in the moment, but it’s the same amount in the end!

This is why if you’re trying to address and improve any skin concern, it is CRUCIAL to be protected with SPF at all times - not just when you’re “actually outside”.

Be mindful of little habits you might have, they may just be holding you back from results. Take a glimpse below of what a "few quick times" of being outside without SPF adds up to be...

15 minutes - Taking your dog on a quick walk outside
30 minutes - Sipping your morning coffee by the window
20 minutes- driving to your facial appointment
30 minutes - Sitting outside just for a little bit
20 minutes - Driving home from the gym after sweating
3 hours - Staying at the pool without reapplying SPF
Total Sun Exposure = 4 hours and 55 minutes of exposure total

All of these little daily habits are EQUAL TO laying out in the sun without SPF for 4 hours and 55 minutes straight!!!

If you can see the sun, it can see you… even if you’re inside!
