”Parfum” or “fragrance” is a cocktail of mystery ingredients, which are often comprised of toxic ingredients including hormone disruptors amongst others. This effects mostly acne and skin aging, but what’s especially worrying (since our hormones regulate almost everything) is unseen effects all the way from fertility, to weight.

A lot of brands include alcohol or methylated spirits. These ingredients are far too drying and strip away your skin's acid mantle. When this happens, your skin will become dehydrated, meaning it will be itchy, tight and flaky - ouch!!

Thin makeup wipes don't really clean your skin. Mostly, they smear around whatever makeup, dirt, and dead skin is hanging out on your face, leaving a trail of irritated skin in their wake.

Makeup wipes can cause irritation due to preservatives that prevent micro-organisms from contaminating the wipes. In some, that includes formaldehyde-releasing chemicals, solubilizers, surfactants, and emulsifiers.

According to dermatologist Janet H. Prystowsky, M.D., P.C., Both the cleansing agents and the preservatives in most wipes can leave a residue on your skin after you're done using them. That residue can clog pores and cause acne and redness.
