There are officially five different skin types: normal, oily, dry, sensitive, and combination. Finding the right products and ingredients for your skin type can be sometimes be tricky, but, there are natural ingredients out that compatible with any skin type. Below are five of the best ingredients that you can use to nourish all skin types.


Green Tea/Green Tea Extract. 

Rich in antioxidants and nutrients, green tea is not only incredibly healthy to drink regularly, but it's touted in the skincare industry for it's wide range of benefits from anti-aging to acne-clearing. The polyphenolic compound EGCG found in green tea has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties. Furthermore, EGCG is anti-androgenic and lowers lipid levels. This makes it effective at reducing sebum excretions in the skin. By reducing sebum, EGCG in green tea extracts can slow or stop the development of acne. 

For aging, green tea is loaded with antioxidants that help the skin recover from environmental damages over the year. A small 2005 study of 80 women showed an improvement of skin elasticity in participants using green tea in their daily regimen. A long-term 2013 study of 24 people showed that skin damage caused by sun exposure was reduced with the topical application of cosmetics containing green tea extract as well. With green teas wide range of benefits, it's something everyone with any skin type should incorporate into their routine.

Niacinamide

Another all-around holy grail ingredient for all skin types. This is a water-soluble form of vitamin b-3 that functions with the natural substances present in your skin. It can help visibly reduce enlarged pores, tighten lax pores, improve uneven skin tones, soften fine lines and wrinkles, eliminate skin dullness, and strengthen weakened skin. One of the hailed properties of Niacinamide is that it can help your skin grow a ceramide (lipid) barrier, which can help it retain moisture.
